Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema was officially established in 1976 through the merger of the School of Theatre Arts II and the Vietnam Cinema School in Ho Chi Minh City. The University operates under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam. Over nearly five decades of development, it has strengthened its position as a leading institution for educating and training highly qualified professionals in theatre, cinema, television, art design, and photography.

Dr. Pham Huy Quang
Dr. Pham Huy Quang is Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema, Vietnam. He has served as Director of Photography for numerous feature films, documentaries, and television productions, including A Documentary on the Connection of Jazz, The Peaceful River, From A to Z, and Gone with the East Wind. Films on which he served as DOP have received prestigious national awards: Tũn – Third Prize at the Golden Wasp Film Festival; The Ant Trail – Silver Kite Award, presented by the Vietnam Cinema Association; Gone with the East Wind – Jury Commendation, presented by the Vietnam Cinema Association.
